Petition Filed In Supreme Court Against Farmers Movement; List Of Demands Mentioned Below

Petition Against Farmers Movement: Public interest litigation filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of Dr. Nand Kishore Garg. The petition seeks immediate removal of the group of farmers who are protesting by blocking the main roads including the highways of various states like Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan etc. connecting the borders around NCT.

The petition said that the common people in Delhi face great difficulties in commuting from their place of residence to their workplace, due to which common people are struggling with their livelihood, health emergencies, educational activities and other emergencies.

It has been said in the petition that under the guise of farmers’ group, problems are being created by anti-social elements.

The petition demands that…

(a) The Supreme Court should issue appropriate orders/directions to the respondents to ensure immediate removal of the group of farmers who are protesting and raising their demands by blocking public roads including highways in States like Punjab.

(b) Direct the respondent to stop the agitating farmer groups from causing damage to public and private properties in the name of protest in the name of their demands.

(c) Direct the respondents to ensure implementation of the law by imposing a complete ban on illegal entry of tractors on the highways, as the group of farmers is protesting with tractors which are registered only for agricultural purposes and causing huge damage to public property. (d) Issue directions to the respondents to lay down comprehensive and exhaustive guidelines relating to protests/agitations that cause disruption of public places (viz. roads including highways and national highways etc.) causing major difficulties in movement of the general public. have to do.

(e) Direct that they ensure immediate removal of the protesters from the protest site at other places in various States including the borders of NCT Delhi, as the farmers are protesting with their demands by blocking the National Highways connecting NCT Delhi.
