Patna To Celebrate Sir Syed Day 2025 With Theatrical Tribute And Cultural Events

The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Old Boys’ Association, Bihar, will commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan on Friday, October 17, with a cultural and literary gathering in Patna.

The annual Sir Syed Day aims to celebrate the life and vision of the 19th-century reformer who ignited the movement for modern education among Indian Muslims despite widespread opposition.

The association’s General Secretary, Muhammad Musheer Alam, stated that this year’s celebration highlights a solo theatrical performance titled ‘Sir Syed’. Renowned theatre personality Saeed Alam wrote and directed the play, earning acclaim across India and abroad.

The role of Sir Syed will be brought to life by Tahseen Munawwar, a distinguished journalist, poet, and actor.

The organisers will stage the play at Abhilekh Bhavan Auditorium, near the BPSC office on Bailey Road, from 5 PM onwards, after successfully performing it in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

Distinguished Guests to Attend

Muzaffar Abdaali, Chief Postmaster General of Bihar Circle, will grace the event as the chief guest.

Professor Muhammad Sajjad from the History Department of Aligarh Muslim University and SM Parvez Alam, Director of the Urdu Directorate under the Bihar government, will attend as special guests.

Former IAS officer and first Vice-Chancellor of Bihar Sports University, Shishir Sinha, will also be present as the guest of honour.

Students from Sir Syed Literacy School will perform cultural programmes during the event, highlighting Sir Syed’s enduring message of enlightenment through education. The association has urged all members of the Aligarian community to participate and help make the occasion a success.

For further details, the AMU Old Boys’ Association, Bihar, encourages attendees to contact them as it continues promoting education and unity inspired by Sir Syed’s vision.
