The Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) has strongly condemned what it calls Pakistan’s persistent crackdown in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK), calling it a grave human rights violation.
The organisation highlighted that the struggle of POJK’s residents is a fight for justice and dignity beyond regional limits.
National Convener Shahid Sayeed asserted, “The pain of the people of POJK can no longer be ignored. Their call for freedom, dignity, and justice is our national duty. Pakistan has become a failed state that keeps its own citizens imprisoned under the shadow of guns.”
The MRM convened an emergency meeting to address the deteriorating situation in POJK.
Senior leaders, such as Dr Shahid Akhtar, Virag Pachpor, Dr Shalini Ali, Mohammad Afzal, Syed Raza Hussain Rizvi, Habib Chaudhary, Girish Juyal, Islam Abbas, Abubakar Naqvi, SK Muddin and Irfan Ali Peerzada, were present.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous decision to push for strong international intervention against Pakistan’s alleged atrocities.
The Manch appealed to Muslims across India to unite in support of justice and humanity.
Furthermore, emphasising the fight is not about territorial borders but the protection of fundamental human rights.
Highlighting the plight of POJK residents, Dr Shahid Akhtar explained that authorities violently suppress their demands for necessities.
He added, “The hypocrisy is evident. a nation condemns India yet oppresses its own people daily.”
Dr Shalini Ali added, “Women, children, and the elderly in POJK live in constant fear. Under the guise of ‘freedom for Kashmir’, Pakistan spreads terror and oppression. We stand in full solidarity with those suffering under this tyranny. This is not a territorial dispute; it is a battle for humanity and justice.”
The Manch urged the United Nations and the World Human Rights Council to take immediate action, pointing out Pakistan’s attempts to silence its citizens through internet and mobile shutdowns.
Furthermore, the organisation also accused Islamabad of employing censorship and force to quell peaceful demonstrations.
Residents of POJK have reportedly taken to the streets seeking access to electricity, water and necessities.
Authorities responded with deadly force, leaving dozens dead and hundreds injured.
Shahid Sayeed concluded, “POJK is an integral part of India. The people there recognise that only India upholds justice and constitutional rights. Pakistan’s decades-long narrative on Kashmir is being exposed by the courage of POJK residents. The international community can no longer ignore this silent tyranny.”
