Operation Sindoor Is Just The Beginning: Indian Military Leadership Issues Strong Message

India’s senior military leadership gathered at the South Western Command headquarters in Jaipur on Thursday to mark the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor.

The officials stated that the operation represented the beginning of a stronger and more decisive national security strategy against terrorism.

Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai and Air Marshal Avdhesh Kumar Bharti attended the joint briefing.

Vice Admiral AN Pramod also participated in the media interaction. Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff Lieutenant General Zubin A Minwalla attended the briefing as well.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was also scheduled to participate in the anniversary event later in the day.

Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai stated, “Pakistan lost more than 100 soldiers during Operation Sindoor, while over 100 terrorists were killed in the nine terrorist camps targeted by India.”

“Operation Sindoor made it clear that no terrorist base in Pakistan is safe anymore,” he further remarked.

Referring to the ceasefire decision, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai asserted, “After suffering heavy losses, the opposing side came to its senses and sought a ceasefire. When that request came, we halted operations. We stepped back, but we did not show weakness.”

“Operation Sindoor is not over yet; it is just the beginning,” he noted.

Air Marshal Avdhesh Kumar Bharti described the Pahalgam terror attack as a national tragedy and said, “We cannot bring back our brothers and sisters who lost their lives, but we can ensure that such an attack never happens again.”

The Air Marshal stressed that the operation targeted only terrorist infrastructure and avoided civilian casualties.

“Our fight was against terrorism and the ecosystem supporting it. We achieved our objectives and completed our mission,” he noted.

Vice Admiral AN Pramod highlighted the coordination among the three services, stating, “The operation showcased ‘JAI’, Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Indigenisation.”

Lieutenant General Zubin A Minwalla credited defence reforms and technological upgrades for the success of the mission.

“We are working towards an integrated and layered architecture to ensure seamless protection against multiple threats and vectors, including drones and missiles,” he remarked.

The military leadership concluded that India’s future response to terrorism would remain firm, coordinated and decisive.
