‘Operation Sindoor’ Continues: India Takes Strong Stand Against Pakistan Protest In Portugal

India delivered a resolute diplomatic message from Lisbon, as the Indian Embassy strongly countered a protest organised by Pakistan near its Chancery building.

India tied its response to ‘Operation Sindoor’- the military operation it launched after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack in April, highlighting its continued efforts to combat cross-border terrorism on a global scale.

In a social media post on X (formerly Twitter), the Indian Embassy in Portugal declared, “The Embassy of India responded firmly with ‘Operation Sindoor’ to the cowardly protest organised by Pakistan near our Chancery building.”

The post thanked the Portuguese government and its law enforcement for their prompt support in safeguarding the Embassy premises.

India firmly rejected such ‘desperate provocations’ and affirmed that its national resolve remains ‘unshaken’.

Ambassador Highlights India’s Silent Strength

India’s Ambassador to Portugal, Puneet Roy Kundal, echoed this sentiment with a post on X, “Protests organised by Pakistan outside the Embassy were met with a silent yet strong and resolute message from our side: ‘Operation Sindoor is not yet over’. All the Embassy officers were steadfast in this approach.”

This symbolic reference to ‘Operation Sindoor’ served as a clear diplomatic signal that India’s campaign against terrorism continues not only militarily but also on global diplomatic platforms.

The Indian armed forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ following the 22 April terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people.

A Pakistan-backed terror group carried out the attack.

In response, India conducted precise military strikes targeting terror launchpads and camps across the border in Pakistan-occupied territory.

Indian officials viewed the Lisbon protest as another attempt by Pakistan to tarnish India’s image on the global stage.

India, however, seized the opportunity to send a clear message to the world: it will respond to terrorism and intimidation with firm and unwavering resolve.

International Support & Cooperation

The Portuguese government was lauded for its assistance in maintaining order during the protest.

Indian and Portuguese authorities significantly heightened security around the Indian Embassy and ensured that no untoward incidents occurred through effective coordination.

India’s robust response in Lisbon aligns with its broader foreign policy approach, combining military decisiveness with diplomatic assertiveness.

As ‘Operation Sindoor’ continues, India is demonstrating that it will actively defend its sovereignty and counter any efforts to destabilise its national security, whether at home or abroad.
