Op Sindoor Outreach: Russia Stands In Solidarity With India For Elimination Of Terrorism

Russia on Friday strongly condemned the 22 April terrorist attack in Pahalgam and expressed full solidarity with India in eliminating terrorism in all its forms.

The statement came during a meeting in Moscow with an all-party Indian delegation.

DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi led the team. They met senior members of the Russian Federation Council, including Andrey Denisov, First Deputy Chair of the Committee on International Affairs.

Taking to X, the Indian Embassy in Russia posted, “The All-Party Delegation led by Hon’ble MP @KanimozhiDMK in the Federation Council of the Russian Federation met with First Deputy Chair of the Committee on International Affairs H.E. Mr. Andrey Denisov and other senators. ”

The post further added, “The Russian side condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and stated that Russia stands in solidarity with India for elimination of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations!”

“Russia and India have shared position in the fight against terrorism,” it further noted.

Delegation Briefed Ahead Of Talks

Earlier, Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar briefed the MPs. He outlined key issues in India-Russia relations.

The meeting marked the start of their official visit under Operation Sindoor, India’s global outreach against terrorism.

“Ambassador Vinay Kumar briefs MPs Kanimozhi, Rajeev Rai, Brijesh Chowta, Prem Chand Gupta, Ashok Kumar Mittal and Ambassador Manjeev Puri on various aspects of India-Russia relations, before they start the official engagements,” the Embassy posted on X.

The delegation, India’s third high-level group this year, arrived in Moscow on Friday. Ambassador Kumar received them at Domodedovo Airport.

Leaders Unite To Deliver Zero-Tolerance Message

The team includes Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Rai, BJP MP Captain Brijesh Chowta (Retd.), RJD MP Prem Chand Gupta, AAP MP Ashok Kumar Mittal, and Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri.

Puri earlier served as India’s envoy to the EU, Belgium, Luxembourg, Nepal and at the UN.

On arrival at Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport the Hon’ble Members of Parliament @KanimozhiDMK, @RajeevRai, @CaptBrijesh, @guptapc50@DrAshokKMittal, and Ambassador @ambmanjeevpuri, welcomed by Ambassador @vkumar1969. A busy schedule of meetings and interactions awaits them in Moscow on 23-24 May 2025,” the Embassy posted on X.

Their visit forms part of India’s broader campaign to expose Pakistan’s role in cross-border terrorism. The Pahalgam attack triggered this diplomatic outreach.

“In the context of the Indian government’s continued efforts under Operation Sindoor and in furtherance of India’s principled and resolute stand against the menace of terrorism, an All-Party Delegation comprising Members of Parliament and a senior diplomat is undertaking a visit to Russia from 22 to 24 May 2025. The delegation would carry forth the country’s strong message of zero-tolerance for terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” the Embassy said on Thursday.
