Nushrratt Bharuccha Meets PM Modi; Expresses Gratitude For Israel Rescue

During a significant moment at the event, actress Nushrratt Bharuccha had a heartfelt meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at CNN-News18’s Rising Bharat Summit held in New Delhi.

The moment was particularly emotional for Nushrratt, who was among several Indian nationals rescued from war-torn Israel during the 2023 conflict.

Following the memorable encounter, the actress took to Instagram to share her experience, post pictures from the summit, and express her deep gratitude.

“Truly honoured and deeply grateful for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the CNN-News18 Rising Bharat Summit,” she wrote.

Nushrratt Bharuccha further added, “It was an incredible privilege to thank you in person, Modi Ji, for your unwavering leadership and the swift action taken by your government to bring back Indian citizens, including myself, stranded in Israel.”

A Moment Of Thanks

During the summit, a video clip captured the emotional exchange between the actress and the Prime Minister.

In the brief interaction, Nushrratt greeted PM Modi with folded hands, to which he responded, “Bahut sankat tha aapke liye, acha hua aapne turant message kar diya,” acknowledging the danger she faced.

Visibly moved, Nushrratt replied, “Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.”

The 2023 Ordeal In Israel

Looking back on the events of 2023, Nushrratt recalled attending the Haifa International Film Festival in Israel when violent conflict suddenly erupted.

In the midst of escalating violence, and as tensions and attacks continued to rise, she found herself trapped in the conflict zone.

Indian authorities successfully evacuated her after she endured hours of anxiety and uncertainty and brought her back safely to India.

Speaking at the summit, Nushrratt recounted the terrifying experience. “It was a situation nobody can prepare you for. Even books cannot teach you how to act in situations like that,” she said.

“In just 12 hours, I learnt what feeling helpless meant. We think we are very smart, well-educated people. But life hits you with a situation where none of these things matter.”

Survival & Reflection

Describing the emotional toll, she called it the ‘most difficult time’ of her life and shared how deeply the experience had affected her.

Recounting those harrowing hours, she said, “Did not think I would be able to see my family or friends again. I was going through the flashes. I thought this was it- it was done.”

Reflecting on the events that unfolded and her eventual safe return, the actress concluded her speech by expressing a heartfelt appreciation for PM Modi and the government for their rapid response.

With visible emotion and gratitude, she said, “Thank you to the Indian authorities and the Prime Minister for ensuring our safe return.”

When viewed against the backdrop of global unrest and the increasing urgency for international cooperation, her emotional account ultimately stands as a poignant reminder of the human impact of international conflicts and underscores the importance of swift diplomatic and humanitarian action.
