As the summit unfolded with dynamic discussions and influential voices from across the nation, Bollywood actress Kajol was among the many distinguished guests present at News18’s Rising Bharat Summit held in New Delhi on April 8.
She took the stage to praise Prime Minister Modi’s global influence and visionary leadership.
During her address, Kajol expressed that she draws inspiration from figures she respects, not just for their popularity but for the values they represent.
“People that I find famous would be the people I respect. They are popular for a reason. I will start with our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He is somebody whom I really look up to, and I know he is famous for the exact right reasons, and the reasons are 101,” she said.
Her comments came as part of a broader discussion at the summit that focused on ‘Youthful Aspirations – Aspire. Achieve. Ascend’, highlighting the energy, creativity, and drive of India’s 420 million-strong youth population.
Interestingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the gathering, underscoring the government’s commitment to achieving a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
His speech resonated with the summit’s core theme, emphasizing the crucial role of the youth in shaping India’s future through innovation, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement.
Turning the conversation toward her own professional path, Kajol candidly reflected on her approach to work in the film industry.
“I am the least worked actor in the whole film industry. Puri film industry mein jo log recently aaye hai unn logon ne zyada kaam kiya hoga. Mujhse zayada. I think my filmography is all about 50-55 films, that’s it,” she noted.
When asked whether she is choosy or simply lazy when it comes to selecting projects, the actress responded with wit and honesty.
The actress said, “Dono. I choose to be lazy. I choose to have a slower life.” Kajol further added that she enjoys her life as well as her work. She explained, adding, “I like my coffee, slow morning. I love my life.”
Kajol’s presence at the summit added a touch of Bollywood charisma to an event otherwise focused on policy, governance, and youth empowerment.
Her appreciation of Prime Minister Modi and insights into her balanced lifestyle struck a chord with the audience, reinforcing the message that success comes not only from ambition but also from mindfulness and authenticity.
