North Central Railway To Operate Over 13,000 Trains For Mahakumbh 2025

As part of its extensive preparations for Mahakumbh 2025, Indian Railways, specifically North Central Railway, has announced plans to operate over 13,000 trains to ensure the smooth and efficient transport of millions of devotees to and from the event. With a focus on safety, comfort, and convenience, the Railways is gearing up to provide an unparalleled travel experience during this historic and spiritually significant event.

North Central Railway will operate more than 10,000 regular trains to serve passengers throughout Mahakumbh 2025. These trains will form the backbone of the transportation network, ensuring that devotees from across the country can reach Prayagraj with ease. The regular services will be complemented by more than 3,000 special trains, designed to accommodate the influx of pilgrims during the peak periods.

To manage the large-scale movement of people, 2,000 trains will be dedicated to ensuring smooth departures from the Mahakumbh event. These trains will facilitate the return journey of devotees once the event concludes, ensuring that pilgrims can travel back to their destinations without hassle.

Additionally, 800 trains will be put into service to handle the return of devotees after the event. These services will run efficiently to ensure timely departures and minimize waiting times for pilgrims, further enhancing their overall experience.

Introducing Ring Rail MEMU Service For Convenience

In a bid to further improve accessibility, Indian Railways will introduce the Ring Rail MEMU service. This service will connect major religious destinations such as Ayodhya, Kashi, and Chitrakoot, offering pilgrims a comfortable and direct travel route to some of India’s holiest cities. The service will simplify travel for devotees visiting multiple locations, making their pilgrimage journey both enjoyable and hassle-free.

For comparison, during the Mahakumbh 2013, Indian Railways operated 1,122 special trains. However, for Mahakumbh 2025, this number will be significantly increased to meet the growing demand and ensure a smooth, uninterrupted journey for all passengers.

To manage the anticipated rush, 23 pairs (46 trains) will have additional stoppages at crucial stations like Prayagraj and Naini Junction. This measure will help ease congestion at major junctions, providing pilgrims with more convenient and accessible stops, and ensuring a comfortable journey for all.

With these extensive arrangements, North Central Railway is fully prepared to provide a seamless and efficient travel experience for millions of devotees attending Mahakumbh 2025. The increase in special trains, the introduction of the Ring Rail MEMU service, and the addition of stoppages are all part of a comprehensive plan to meet the needs of the pilgrims and ensure their safe and comfortable journey. Indian Railways is committed to making Mahakumbh 2025 a memorable and smooth experience for everyone involved.
