Dharm Dhwajas Raised At All Three Vaishnav Akhadas after ‘Charan Paduka Pujan’

The Akhada Sector at Mahakumbh Nagar is immersed in devotion and spirituality as Dharm Dhwajas are raised after ‘Charan Padukan Pujan’.

After the establishment of ‘Dharm Dhwajas’ (religious flags) by the Sannyasi Akhadas, the three Vaishnav Akhadas also raised their Dharma flags on Saturday in Sector 20, marking the beginning of various rituals associated with the Maha Kumbh.

The three Vaishnav Akhadas that raised the ‘flags’ include, Shri Panch Nirmohi Ani Akhada, Shri Panch Nirvani Ani Akhada, and Shri Panch Digambar Ani Akhada.

The 13 Akhadas of Sanatan Dharma, the centrepiece of Maha Kumbh that draws millions of devotees, are now immersed in an atmosphere of worship and spirituality.

In line with Vaishnav traditions, the Dharm Dhwajas were raised after ceremonial worship of the ‘Charan Paduka Pujan’ on Saturday. According to Mahant Rajendra Das, the national president of Shri Panch Nirmohi Ani Akhada, the establishment of the Dharm Dhwajas marks the commencement of all activities at the Akhadas.

The chief deity of all three Vaishnav Akhadas is Lord Hanuman, and the Dharm flags now symbolizes his divine presence at the camps. As per the tradition, the flags bearing the image of Lord Hanuman will continue to fly high throughout the Mahakumbh, symbolizing His blessings.

The Dharm Dhwajas ceremonies at the three Akhadas were conducted with full religious rituals. Mahant Rajendra Das mentioned that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was expected to attend the event, but due to the national mourning for the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, the CM’s visit was cancelled. However, Mahant Rajendra Das assured that the Chief Minister would visit soon.

The first Dharm Dhwaja was hoisted at Shri Panch Digambar Ani Akhada, followed by the flags at the other two Akhadas. The ceremony was attended by prominent saints from all 13 Akhadas.
