On the night of February 27-28 2025, Noida’s Sector-39 Police team was conducting routine checks near Sector-44 when they attempted to stop two individuals riding a motorcycle.
In response, the criminals fired at the police officers with the intention of fleeing.
A high-speed chase ensued, and the criminals tried to escape towards Sector-98.
During the encounter, one of the criminals, identified as Vijay (25), was shot and injured, while the other, Naushad (22), was apprehended after an intense search operation.
Both suspects are known criminals involved in various thefts and snatching incidents in the region.
The Noida Police swiftly recovered a stolen motorcycle (Splendor) from the criminals, which they had used in the crime.
Additionally, the police seized a significant haul of stolen property, including eight mobile phones that the criminals had snatched from unsuspecting individuals across various locations in Noida.
The criminals also possessed an illegal firearm, along with one live and one spent cartridge.
These individuals are part of a larger network that actively targets pedestrians and commuters in the area.
Both suspects have a criminal history, with previous charges related to mobile phone theft and robbery.
The injured criminal, Vijay, was immediately provided with medical attention and sent to the hospital for treatment.
His condition is stable, and he is under police custody. Meanwhile, the authorities are conducting a detailed investigation into the suspects’ backgrounds and other criminal activities.
The police are also looking into possible links between the arrested individuals and other ongoing criminal cases in the area.
Their records and any connections to organized crime are being carefully examined.
The successful operation and arrests have been hailed as a major victory for the Noida Police, who have vowed to continue their efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of residents.
Additional patrols and surveillance are being implemented in high-crime areas to prevent future incidents.
