In a decisive operation, Sector-39 Police in Noida arrested three individuals accused of involvement in mobile phone snatching and vehicle theft.
On August 10, 2025, police apprehended suspects Ashu Kannojia, Shiva alias Raju alias Gautam, and Abhishek from the road behind Stellar Green Park, Sector-43.
Police recovered 13 stolen Android mobile phones of various brands and a Hero Splendour motorcycle allegedly used to commit the crimes.
According to police, the accused would ride the recovered motorcycle to commit snatching offences on deserted roads, targeting unsuspecting pedestrians.
They also operated in crowded locations such as bus stands, where they stole mobile phones.
The trio sold the stolen devices at Delhi’s infamous ‘Chor Bazaar’ (thieves’ market) and split the proceeds among themselves. The money reportedly funded their drug habits and other illegal activities.
Police seized one Hero Splendor motorcycle used in the crimes and thirteen stolen Android mobile phones of various brands.
Investigators linked the items to multiple incidents of theft and snatching in the region.
Police have registered a formal case (No. 395/2025) under Sections 305A, 317(2), and 317(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities have confirmed that the recovered items will be crucial evidence in the proceedings.
The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate commended the swift action of Sector-39 Police in apprehending the suspects and recovering the stolen property.
They urged the public to remain vigilant, especially in crowded public areas and deserted stretches.
Investigators are determining whether the suspects are linked to other criminal activities in Noida and nearby districts.
