No Discussion On Nuclear Issue Between DGMOs Of India & Pakistan: Gen Dwivedi

Addressing the annual press conference ahead of Army Day on January 15, Gen Dwivedi clarified that the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan did not discuss nuclear warfare during Operation Sindoor.

He noted that nuclear rhetoric from politicians or the public in Pakistan did not originate from its military.

The Army Chief highlighted that India’s resolute action against terrorism relied on expanding the conventional space.

“The mobilisation during Operation Sindoor allowed us to act decisively and eliminate approximately 100 Pakistani personnel,” he said.

Gen Dwivedi explained that the Army was fully prepared for ground operations if Pakistan committed any mistake.

Gen Dwivedi reported that eight terrorist camps remain active, including two near the International Border (IB) and six across the Line of Control (LoC).

“We maintain close surveillance on these camps, and if similar threats emerge, we will respond accordingly,” he said.

He said both countries have gradually scaled back the forward troop movements from Operation Sindoor, but the Army continues to maintain vigilance.

“As far as our eyes and ears are concerned, Operation Sindoor is still ongoing, and whatever actions we need to take, we have already taken forward,” he added.

Gen Dwivedi emphasised that Operation Sindoor showcased India’s operational readiness, strategic clarity, and ability to expand the conventional domain without escalating to nuclear engagement.

The Army remains poised to respond to threats while maintaining security along northern and north-western borders.
