No Call Between PM Modi And Trump During Operation Sindoor: Jaishankar In Lok Sabha

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar addressed the Lok Sabha and said India remains firm in its zero-tolerance policy on terrorism from Pakistan. He also denied any phone call between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump during Operation Sindoor.

The comments came during a high‑stakes Lok Sabha debate on Operation Sindoor.

“There was no call between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump between April 22 and June 17,” he said, dismissing suggestions of international pressure.

India launched Operation Sindoor on May  7 in direct retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 civilian lives.

The operation triggered a four‑day conflict with Pakistan after Islamabad’s drone and missile strikes failed to breach Indian defences. Fighting ended when Pakistan’s DGMO reached out to India’s DGMO seeking a ceasefire.

Diplomatic Efforts and Next Steps

Jaishankar said India has successfully exposed Pakistan’s long‑standing support for terrorism on the global stage.

“We told world leaders our zero tolerance against terrorism. We have the right to defend,” he added. He noted that India’s diplomatic campaign has isolated Pakistan internationally.

Jaishankar warned that Operation Sindoor is not India’s final response to cross‑border terrorism.

“We will take whatever action is necessary to protect our citizens and interests,” he affirmed.

He also confirmed that visa restrictions on Pakistani nationals will remain as part of India’s broader counter‑terrorism measures.
