The 63-year-old has been admitted to the hospital’s private ward. Around midday, she was transported to the medical centre. She was hospitalised for a reason that was not immediately evident.
On February 1, 2023, Sitharaman is slated to deliver the Union Budget. On Friday, the minister gave a hint that her upcoming budget will “follow the spirit” of prior ones by saying that it would “continue to boost growth on the back of public expenditure.”
She presided over the virtual sessions conducted from November 21–28 for Budget 2023–24 consultations. The minister stated last week that the government closely monitors inflation to ensure there is no increase in costs.
