Nearly 95 Flights From UAE Set To Land In India Amid West Asia Disruptions

Approximately 95 flights from the United Arab Emirates are likely to reach India on Monday as limited non-scheduled services continue due to the ongoing situation in West Asia.

At the same time, flights from Saudi Arabia and Oman are continuing to operate, ensuring partial connectivity.

Airspace across sections of the Gulf remains constrained. Although Qatar has partially reopened its airspace, Qatar Airways is expected to run around 8 to 10 special flights to India. In contrast, Kuwait and Bahrain have not yet reopened their airspaces.

Airlines have adjusted operations by shifting to alternative departure points. Jazeera Airways is currently operating flights to India from Al Qaisumah Airport in Saudi Arabia, while Gulf Air is conducting special services from Dammam.

Officials are facilitating the movement of Indian nationals through alternate transit hubs. Travellers from Kuwait, Bahrain and Iraq are being routed via Saudi Arabia to reach India.

Indian citizens in Iran are being assisted in returning home through Armenia and Azerbaijan, with more than 1,000 individuals already evacuated, including a significant number of students.

Students in Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz have also been relocated to safer areas within the country. Meanwhile, Indians in Israel are being supported in travelling via Jordan.

Diplomatic Outreach Intensifies

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stepped up diplomatic engagements with global leaders over the situation. He conveyed festive greetings during his recent conversation with Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian. He also expressed hope for peace, stability and prosperity across the region.

PM Modi criticised the attacks on critical infrastructure. He warned that such actions could disrupt regional stability and global supply chains, while stressing the need to keep key shipping routes secure.

The Ministry of External Affairs is closely tracking developments, with a strong focus on the safety of Indian nationals abroad. A dedicated control room remains active and is coordinating with various state and Union Territory authorities.

Indian missions across West Asia are operating round the clock, assisting helplines, advisories and consular services, while supporting students, workers and stranded travellers.

Since 28 February, nearly 3,75,000 passengers have returned to India from the region. Officials have indicated that flight services are gradually improving, with continued efforts to facilitate safe travel for those affected.
