‘NDA Will Get Unprecedented Majority In Bihar’, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would secure a decisive victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, citing the strong voter enthusiasm seen during the first phase of polling. He also announced a series of public rallies to be held in Forbesganj, Araria, and Bhagalpur.

Sharing a message on X in Hindi, the Prime Minister said that the people’s overwhelming participation in the ‘grand festival of democracy’ was a clear sign of the NDA’s impending success.

“The grand festival of democracy in Bihar is witnessing an amazing enthusiasm among the people, which indicates that the NDA is going to get an unprecedented majority in the assembly elections. In this energetic atmosphere, I am eager to receive the blessings of my family members at the public meetings in Forbesganj, Araria, around 11:30 AM and in Bhagalpur around 1:30 PM,” he posted.

Polling began across 121 Assembly constituencies spread over 18 districts, where more than 3.75 crore eligible voters are deciding the fate of 1,314 candidates, including 122 women.

Voting commenced at 7 AM and will likely continue until 6 PM, except in certain sensitive constituencies where polling will close earlier as a precautionary measure.

To maintain transparency and ensure smooth conduct, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has arranged for live webcasting from all 45,324 polling stations, supported by extensive security involving state police, central armed forces, and election observers.

PM Modi’s Appeal to First-Time Voters

Earlier in the day, PM Modi had appealed to voters, particularly those casting their votes for the first time, to participate with full enthusiasm.

Taking to X, he posted, “Today in Bihar is the first phase of the festival of democracy. My appeal to all voters of this phase in the assembly elections is that they should vote with full enthusiasm. On this occasion, my special congratulations to all my young companions of the state who are going to cast their vote for the first time. Remember—first voting, then refreshments!”

In addition to the Prime Minister’s appeal, senior NDA leaders, including Union Ministers JP Nadda, Rajnath Singh, and Giriraj Singh also encouraged citizens to vote in large numbers, stressing development, job creation, and stability as the alliance’s core priorities.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah similarly urged voters to come out in record numbers, warning against the return of ‘Jungle Raj’ in Bihar.

Taking to X, he appealed to the people, especially the youth, to cast their votes in large numbers during the first phase of polling to uphold good governance and secure the state’s future.
