The National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) organized a program at its headquarters in Jasola, New Delhi, focusing on the theme “Urdu Medium Education: Problems and Possibilities.” The event, attended by Padma Shri awardee Dr. Zaheer I. Kazi, highlighted the need for improving Urdu medium education and its connection with technology. NCPUL Director Dr. Shams Iqbal welcomed Dr. Kazi, acknowledging his long association with the Council.
Dr. Zaheer I. Kazi emphasized the need for enhancing the quality of Urdu schools and focusing on higher education. He praised the Council’s efforts and advocated for integrating Urdu with modern technology. Dr. Kazi also noted the film industry’s role in promoting the Urdu language.
Mohammad Afzal highlighted how Urdu enhances personality and brings out hidden talent. Urdu’s elegance, he said, contributes to personal success. Other speakers, including Mohammad Abdul Sattar, stressed improving Urdu newspapers to further strengthen the language’s role in society.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shams Iqbal, with key members and staff of the Council present.
