The ‘Namaste’ sculpture, standing at an impressive 25 feet and its smaller 15-foot counterpart, pays homage to the sun and has become a defining feature of Namo Ghat.
Dr. D. Vasudevan, the Chief Administrator of Varanasi Smart City, underscores the commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and emphasizes the importance of local involvement, giving the ghat a unique identity. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Subah-e-Banaras and partake in the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti, while also indulging in water adventure sports and availing facilities for health and fitness.
The thoughtful inclusion of a special immersion tank facilitates the eco-friendly disposal of worship materials, flowers, and idols, contributing to the preservation of the sacred Ganges. Accessibility is a key focus, with ramps and stairs ensuring that people of all ages and abilities can partake in the ritualistic Ganga snan.
