My top four “castes” are farmers, youth, women, and the impoverished: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed on Thursday that his work over the previous ten years has resulted in a great deal of public trust in his government. He criticized previous administrations for behaving like the “Mai baap” of citizens and basing their development policies on vote-bank considerations.

During the government’s Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, which aims to cover all welfare schemes to the fullest, he addressed beneficiaries of various programs and stated that the poor, youth, women, and farmers are the four “castes” that he believes will make India developed.

The Prime Minister stated that the people know he will keep all of his promises. The yatra, in which government “raths” (chariots) are travelling to all corners, has created a great deal of enthusiasm among the public. Some have even dubbed the vehicles “Modi ki guarantee wali gaadi” (vehicles carrying Modi’s guarantees).

He emphasized that the program will identify everyone left out of welfare schemes intended for them and that he will ensure their saturation coverage in the upcoming years. He stated that in order to accomplish this, he needs their blessings.

People all across the nation are speaking up, he said, and saying that Modi’s guarantee starts where people stop expecting others to live up to their expectations.

Following his talks with the recipients, Prime Minister Modi stated that Bharat will never stop or grow weary because its citizens are determined to see their country develop.

“In various corners of the country, there is such enthusiasm for the yatra and there is a reason for it, as people have seen Modi, his work, in the last 10 years and therefore, they have immense confidence in the government and its efforts.”

“People have also witnessed the time when previous administrations thought of themselves as the’mai-baap’ of the people. Thus, a significant section of the population remained without access to basic amenities even after decades of independence, according to PM Modi.

The Hindi term “mai-baap” here refers to a government with a feudal mentality.

Since they had to rely on middlemen and run around offices to get any benefit, more than half of the population had lost faith in the government, he said. However, his administration is reaching out to the populace to enroll them in various welfare programs. He claimed that previous administrations were motivated by vote-bank concerns and political calculations.

The public never trusted the declarations made by such ‘ mai-baap’ governments as a result. We have reversed this, and the current government views humans as manifestations of God. We operate under the principle of’seva bhav,’ rather than’satta bhav,’ PM Modi stated.

He said that people are walking along and joining the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in just 15 days. According to the Prime Minister, the ‘Modi ki guarantee’ vehicle has reached over 12,000 panchayats and has benefited over 30 lakh people so far.

“Mothers and sisters are contacting this ‘Modi ki guarantee’ vehicle. People are advancing the initiative and it has taken on the form of a people’s movement,” he stated. He claimed that a large number of panchayats had received saturation coverage without facing any discrimination and that young people were leading the charge in popularizing the exercise and advancing the cause of developing India.

To demonstrate his dedication, he said that rather than launching the yatra at a location like Vigyan Bhawan, which is connected to official events, he went to a remote tribal area in Khunti.

According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is being conducted across the nation with the goal of achieving saturation of the government’s flagship schemes by ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach all targeted beneficiaries in a timely manner.

After launching the historic 10,000th Kendra at AIIMS, Deoghar, PM Modi also announced during the event an initiative to raise the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which sell medicines at subsidized rates, from 10,000 to 25,000. ‘Drone Didi Yojana’ was also introduced by him.

During the years 2024–2026, the program intends to supply drones to 15,000 specific women Self Help Groups so they can rent them out to farmers for agricultural purposes.

He stated that the initiative should be called Namo Drone Didi, as some have suggested, and that he wanted these women to be treated with “naman” (respect) in their villages. According to him, women who train to become drone pilots will gain respect from society and financial independence.

“My dream is to make 2 crore women living in villages and working with self-help groups lakhpati,” he stated.

The Prime Minister noted that people have been connecting his name with a flagship welfare initiative like Jan Aushadhi Kenra, which is considered the BJP’s greatest strength as it prepares for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He claimed that Jan Aushadhi Kendras are now referred to as “Modi’s medicine shop” and that approximately 2,000 different kinds of medications are offered at these locations for 80–90% off.

Observing that the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna, which supplies free grains to more than 80 crore people, has been given an additional five-year extension, he declared that “Modi’s guarantee means the guarantee of fulfilling all guarantees”.
