Mr Justice Manoj Gupta appointed as acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court

Prayagraj. 

The  Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Mr. Justice Pritinkar Diwakar  retired on Tuesday. Meanwhile  notification has been issued to appoint the senior most  Mr Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta as the Acting Chief Justice.

Justice Pritinkar Diwakar was transferred to Allahabad High Court on October 3, 2018. He was appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court on 13 February 2023. He took oath as the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court on 26 March 2023.

Meanwhile Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta was appointed as Additional Judge on 12 April 2013. On 10 April 2015, he took oath as a permanent judge. The Supreme Court Collegium has not yet given its recommendation on the appointment of the next Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court. There are currently 92 judges in the Allahabad High Court with a sanctioned strength of 160 judges.
