The weather in the National Capital Region (NCR) changed dramatically on Tuesday, as dark clouds gathered in the morning.
Short spells of rainfall occurred in Delhi, Gaziabad, Noida, and other adjoining areas.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that the spell is likely to continue for two consecutive days.
“Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected in NCR and adjoining regions till October 1,” the IMD said in its bulletin.
The maximum temperature will swing around 34-35°C, and the minimum temperature will range between 26-29°C.
The humidity levels will range from 55-85 per cent, which is termed a comfortable weather condition.
After a week of relentless heat and humidity, the refreshing showers finally brought much-needed relief to residents.
The IMD added that from October 2 onwards, the intensity of rainfall will reduce, and by October 5, regions are expected to see clear skies.
However, the rain led to waterlogging in several areas and unnecessary traffic problems.
Chaotic traffic was reported in several parts of Ghaziabad’s Vaishali, Indirapuram, Noida and Delhi.
After days of sweltering heat and heavy humidity, the cool showers finally brought comfort and smiles to everyone.
Nearby farmers welcomed the rains, bringing hope for thirsty late-sown crops and balance before the monsoon’s final goodbye.
Weather experts said the spell would help balance seasonal conditions before the final withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from northwest India.
