Maha Ashtami Greetings: President Murmu, PM Modi Invoke Maa Durga’s Blessings For Happiness & Harmony

On the sacred occasion of Maha Ashtami, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended their heartfelt greetings to the people of India, celebrating the triumph of divinity and the cultural richness of Durga Puja and Navratri.

Both leaders invoked Maa Durga’s blessings for peace, prosperity, and spiritual strength across the nation.

President Murmu, in a message shared on the social media platform X, emphasised the festival’s cultural and spiritual essence, calling it a time of devotion and reflection.

Taking to X, she posted, “On the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all Indians living in India and abroad.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to X to extend his festive greetings, expressing hope that the sacred occasion brings positivity and good health.

“Heartiest greetings to all fellow countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Maha Ashtami of Navratri. My wish is that this sacred occasion brings happiness, peace, and excellent health into everyone’s life,” he wrote.

Further adding to the spiritual fervour, the Prime Minister shared a devotional rendition of ‘Durge Durge Durgatinashini, Kichhu Bali Gaane Gaane’ by legendary singer Asha Bhosle and Swapan Chakraborty, evoking a sense of devotion among followers online.

Spiritual Observances Across the Country

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also extended his greetings and highlighted the significance of worshipping Maa Mahagauri, the eighth form of Goddess Durga, revered on Maha Ashtami.

He said, “The worship of Mother Mahagauri, the eighth form of the primordial power Mother Durga, the creator of the universe, brings spiritual peace and the attainment of divine powers.”

Temples and households across India observed special pujas, devotional songs, and rituals in honour of Maa Mahagauri.

Devotees offered prayers seeking strength, wisdom, and divine grace as the Navratri celebrations continue towards Navami and culminate with Vijayadashami.

Moreover, Maha Ashtami, one of the most revered days of Navratri, symbolises the victory of good over evil and the empowerment of divine feminine energy.

The messages from the nation’s leaders echoed the spirit of unity, devotion, and collective well-being, inspiring citizens to embrace compassion and righteousness in their lives.
