Qamar Mohsin Sheikh, often referred to as the Pakistani-born Rakhi Sister of Narendra Modi, will go to New Delhi to tie a rakhi to the Prime Minister on this Raksha Bandhan. For the past 30 years, Sheikh has sent Modi a Rakhi each year.
“I created the ‘Rakhi’ myself this time. As he enjoys reading, I would also give PM Modi a book on agriculture. I haven’t been able to travel for the last two or three years because of Covid-19, but this time I’ll get to meet him in person,” said Sheikh, who moved to India from Pakistan following her marriage.
“I created him a red Rakhi particularly for him. The color red is viewed as a sign of power. I prayed for him to become Gujarat’s chief minister before, and he did. I used to say that I wanted him to be prime minister every time I tied the Rakhi. He consistently responded in the positive, telling him that God would grant all of his requests. He is currently the PM and serving the nation admirably, she said.
