A new book titled ‘Modi Mission’ will be unveiled in Mumbai on Friday, adding another title to the growing list of works exploring the life and leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Authored by Berjis Desai, a well-known writer and lawyer, the book traces PM Modi’s rise from his modest beginnings in Vadnagar to his position as India’s Prime Minister.
The launch event will take place in the presence of Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat, who will release the book, along with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other prominent guests.
Desai describes ‘Modi Mission’ as a ‘journey of ideas’, rather than a typical biography. It reflects on how PM Modi has emerged as a driving force behind India’s national transformation, overcoming numerous political and personal hurdles.
The author explores key experiences from PM Modi’s early life that influenced his values, work ethic, and approach to public policy.
The book also attempts to challenge what it calls ‘misleading narratives’ spread by some sections of the elite, arguing that these narratives aim to disrupt governance.
Through its pages, the book outlines PM Modi’s focus on reviving India’s civilizational confidence, building an inclusive welfare model, and ensuring transparent, performance-based governance.
It also highlights several of his government’s landmark moves, from Article 370’s abrogation to the formalisation of the economy, presenting them as examples of his methodical style of decision-making.
Author Berjis Desai, who has previously written acclaimed works such as ‘Oh! Those Parsis’ and ‘The Bawaji’, offers a crisp yet insightful account of PM Modi’s leadership.
Rupa Publications has published the book.
In his endorsement, industrialist Anand Mahindra stated, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi stands among the most closely watched leaders of the 21st century. This book explores how, anchored by an unmistakable love for our country, he has sought to lift its place in the world with relentless energy.”
