The 21st Annual Convocation of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad will take place on Thursday, starting at 10:00 AM at the institute’s campus in Prayagraj.
During this ceremony, the institute will confer degrees upon students from various academic programs.
The Chief Guest for the event will be Dr. Anand Deshpande, Founder, Chairman, and Managing Director of Persistent Systems, Pune, who will deliver the Convocation Address.
Dr. Vivek Lall, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, will preside over the event via an online connection.
Prof Kailasa Rao M, Director of the School of Planning and Architecture in Bhopal, will serve as the Guest of Honour.
Key figures such as Prof Rama Shanker Verma, Director of MNNIT and Chairman of the Senate, Prof LK Mishra, Dean of Academics, along with other esteemed Senate members, academic department heads, deans, and Prof Ramesh Pandey, Registrar (Oftg), will also attend the ceremony.

In a statement to the media, Prof. RS Verma, Director of MNNIT, shared that the university will award a total of 1,583 degrees to graduates and postgraduates, including 1,059 B Tech, 345 M Tech, 112 MCA, 27 M Sc, 32 MBA, and 35 PhD scholars.
Among the graduates, 841 males and 218 females will receive their B Tech degrees.
For postgraduates in MBA, MCA, M Sc, and M Tech, the university will award degrees to 391 males and 125 females, while 19 males and 16 females will be conferred PhD degrees.
The convocation will also see the awarding of degrees to 46 international students admitted through DASA (34 males and 12 females) and 17 students through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) (14 males and 3 females).
The ceremony will feature the presentation of 28 Gold Medals to postgraduate students and 10 Gold Medals to undergraduates for academic excellence.
Additionally, 13 sponsored Gold Medals, established by faculty, alumni, and industry partners, will presented to outstanding students.
Notably, Rishabh Gupta from Civil Engineering will receive the Overall Institute Gold Medal as the best student among the B Tech final-year graduates of the 2024 batch.
Gold Medals will also be awarded in year-wise categories: Vaibhav Kansal (Computer Science and Engineering) for the third year, Aditya Raj (Computer Science and Engineering) and Nishant Agarwal (Electronics and Communication) for the second year, and Siddhnat Prajapati (Civil Engineering) for the first year.
The convocation also highlights the impressive placement record of the institute.
With a total of 1,398 placement offers, MNNIT has secured a remarkable 86.05% placement rate for its undergraduate students and 62.98% for postgraduate students.
The highest salary package offered was an astounding Rs 71.14 lakh per annum (LPA), with 6 students receiving these top offers.
The 21st Convocation of MNNIT marks a significant milestone in the academic journey of the graduating students, celebrating their hard work and achievements while also reinforcing the institute’s commitment to excellence in education and career placement.
