Maha Kumbh 2025 To Feature All-Terrain Vehicles For Enhanced Fire Safety & Security

For the first time in the history of the Maha Kumbh, organizers will equip the event with state-of-the-art all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) designed to provide swift fire safety responses and navigate through the crowded and narrow lanes of the fair area.

The Uttar Pradesh government has committed to making these vehicles a critical part of the security infrastructure for the 2025 Maha Kumbh, ensuring a safe and environmentally friendly experience for millions of visitors.

Arriving from Germany, the four all-terrain vehicles come equipped with cutting-edge firefighting technology, including fire extinguishers, air compressors, and a robust water system.

Engineers specifically built these vehicles to operate efficiently on challenging surfaces such as sand, swampy ground, and shallow water, allowing emergency services to reach incidents swiftly across the sprawling fairgrounds.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the vehicles on 25 November. These vehicles can travel at speeds of up to 100 km/h and cover distances of up to 60 km on rough terrain.

Powered by electric batteries, they align with CM Yogi’s vision of a ‘green’ Maha Kumbh and represent a significant upgrade to the region’s firefighting capabilities.

24/7 Firefighting Support With All-Terrain Vehicles

The all-terrain vehicles will work around the clock, ensuring prompt intervention in fire emergencies, especially in crowded areas where traditional fire engines would struggle to navigate.

Pramod Sharma, Chief Fire Officer of Prayagraj and Nodal Officer for the Maha Kumbh fire safety operations, explained that the introduction of these vehicles is a major step in preventing and controlling fires.

He further stated, “These all-terrain vehicles, which cost approximately 2.5 crores, will ensure that our fire safety teams can respond quickly even in densely packed areas. We are training firefighters to effectively use these machines, which will be crucial once the Maha Kumbh officially begins.”

The ATVs are fitted with a range of firefighting tools, including water tanks, hoses, and a foam system capable of spraying up to 9 liters of water and chemical foam.

The foam, which is fluorine-free and biodegradable, is especially effective in suppressing fires caused by flammable liquids, preventing re-ignition, and ensuring safety for both responders and bystanders.

The foam system can reach up to 45 feet, giving operators a safe distance from the flames while working to extinguish them.

Additionally, these vehicles feature air compressors and a 75-foot hose, allowing them to reach fires within a 100-foot radius.

Ensuring Safety In The Maha Kumbh Environment

This ensures that emergency teams can tackle fires effectively and safely, especially when dealing with hazardous fumes and intense heat radiation.

The vehicles’ design makes them ideal for use in the crowded and challenging environment of the Maha Kumbh, where large crowds and narrow lanes can hinder traditional firefighting efforts.

These ATVs easily maneuver through such conditions, allowing firefighters to reach their destination quickly, even when they encounter blocked or difficult-to-navigate roads.

The introduction of these all-terrain vehicles is just one part of a broader initiative to ensure that the Maha Kumbh 2025 is both safe and sustainable.

With more than 12 crore devotees likely to attend the religious event, the Uttar Pradesh government has committed to enhancing the safety infrastructure, with a focus on environmentally friendly solutions.

As the countdown to the Maha Kumbh continues, the introduction of these innovative firefighting vehicles underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and well-being of millions of visitors, reinforcing the vision of a safer and greener event for all.
