Meerut News: In a horrifying case from Pallavpuram Phase-2, a man has been arrested for allegedly raping his five-year-old niece repeatedly over a period of five to six months.
The incident came to light on Wednesday evening when local residents caught the accused in the act.
According to police sources, the accused, Jamshed, a known drug addict and resident of Pallavpuram Phase-2, had taken his niece to an isolated area near their home.
Eyewitnesses reported that the girl’s screams drew the attention of two young men passing by, who rushed to the scene.
They found the girl in a semi-naked condition and immediately apprehended the accused. Within moments, a crowd gathered, and the matter was brought to the attention of local police.
Upon receiving a formal complaint from the victim’s father, Pallavpuram police registered a case against Jamshed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

During questioning, the accused reportedly confessed to sexually assaulting the child on multiple occasions over the last several months. He had allegedly been luring the girl to secluded areas under the guise of play.
Police officials confirmed that the child was immediately sent for medical examination and is now under the care of child welfare authorities. Counselling and psychological support are also being arranged.
The local community remains in shock and anger over the incident. Residents have demanded swift justice and strict punishment for the accused. Many have also called for increased vigilance and awareness to prevent such incidents.
