Manoj Tiwari Urges Delhi University Students To Use Social Media Responsibly

Lok Sabha MP Manoj Tiwari urged students of Maharaja Agrasen College, University of Delhi, to uphold strong values, develop diverse skills and pursue their ambitions with dedication, stressing their role in national development and the responsible use of social media.

Tiwari delivered the message during the oath-taking ceremony of the college’s newly elected Students’ Union on October 14, 2026. He encouraged Gen-Z students to use digital platforms responsibly and refrain from spreading misinformation.

The MP urged students to participate in the Yamuna cleanliness drive scheduled for October 18, 2026. He assured them that an NCC battalion for boys would be established at the college at the earliest.

College Principal Prof Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship rather than limit themselves to conventional employment. Highlighting student elections as an expression of democratic values, he urged young people to follow Swami Vivekananda’s message:

Arise, awake and stop not until the goal is reached.

Chief Guest Manoj Tiwari administered the oath of office and duty to the newly elected representatives.

Niharika Yadav was elected president, Priyanshi Tyagi vice-president, Shalik Yadav general secretary and Siddharth Sharma joint secretary. Neha took charge as secretary for social welfare, while Muskan Goyal became secretary for women’s development.

Election officers Prof Amit Pundir, Prof Mukesh Agrawal, Prof Gitika Saxena and Prof Gitanjali Chawla attended the ceremony. Prof Ritu Kohli, convenor of the Students’ Advisory Committee, was present alongside faculty members, non-teaching staff and students.

Dr Indrani Das Gupta conducted the programme, which concluded with a soulful bhajan performance by Septune, the college’s music society.
