Manoj Sinha: Security Forces Won’t Rest Till Terrorism Is Rooted Out From J&K

Today, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that the government and security forces will not take rest until they completely eradicate terrorism and its supporters from the Union Territory.

In a significant escalation of violence, Jammu & Kashmir has experienced three separate attacks within just three days. Following the recent terrorist attack in Reasi, another wave of terror has struck the region, leading to heightened security measures. On Wednesday, officials reported that terrorists and security forces exchanged gunfire at a joint checkpoint in Doda district, injuring three security personnel. Additionally, police and security forces conducted an operation to apprehend a terrorist hiding in Saida Sukhal village in Kathua district.

These incidents occurred amid increased security measures following a terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra in Reasi on Sunday. The attack caused the bus to plunge into a deep gorge, resulting in nine deaths and 41 injuries.

Manoj Sinha urged the people of J&K to remain calm while speaking at a folk festival organized by the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Complex (SKICC). He assured them that the administration and security forces are committed to eliminate terrorism and its supporters from the region.

Referring to the Reasi attack, which resulted in nine deaths and 33 injuries, Sinha acknowledged the widespread anger it has caused among the community, affirming that this anger is justified. He called on the public to trust the bravery, courage, and intelligence of the police and security forces, reiterating their dedication to eradicating terrorism and its supporters from J&K.

He also encouraged artists to contribute to the fight against terrorism through their various forms of art.
