Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi Says 2025 Boosted India’s Self-Confidence, Set Stage For 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday recalled several defining moments of 2025, saying the year gave India ‘even greater self-confidence’ and prepared the nation to step into 2026 with new hopes and resolutions.

Addressing his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister reflected on achievements that united the country and made every Indian proud.

“With 2026 just a few days away, memories of the entire year are swirling in my mind,” PM Modi said.

He noted that from national security to sports, science and global platforms, India’s presence was strongly felt across the world throughout the year.

Highlighting national security, the Prime Minister praised the Indian Armed Forces for their military action against terrorists in May.

“This year, Operation Sindoor became a symbol of pride for every Indian. The world clearly saw that today’s India does not compromise on its security,” he said.

PM Modi added that the operation sparked a wave of patriotism across the country. He said people expressed their love and devotion towards Maa Bharati in various ways.

The Prime Minister also recalled the completion of 150 years of the national song Vande Mataram, describing it as another moment that showcased national unity.

He noted the enthusiastic public participation after he invited citizens to share messages and suggestions using the hashtag VandeMataram150.

Calling 2025 a memorable year for sports, PM Modi highlighted several historic victories.

India’s Men’s Cricket Team won the ICC Champions Trophy, while the Women’s Cricket Team lifted the World Cup for the first time.

PM Modi also praised the Indian women’s team for winning the Blind T20 World Cup. He further lauded the country’s para-athletes for their medal-winning performances at world championships.

In science and space, the Prime Minister said India took ‘giant leaps forward’. He cited astronaut Shubanshu Shukla’s historic journey as the first Indian to reach the International Space Station.

PM Modi said 2025 beautifully reflected India’s faith and cultural heritage.

The Prayagraj Maha Kumbh at the start of the year drew global attention. The flag-hoisting ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya at the year’s end, however, filled the nation with pride.

He also mentioned progress in environmental protection and wildlife conservation, noting that India’s cheetah population crossed 30.

Stressing the growing popularity of indigenous goods, he said people increasingly preferred Swadeshi products made by Indian hands.

While expressing grief over natural disasters faced by several regions, PM Modi concluded by saying that India now stands ready to move forward in 2026 with renewed confidence, hope and determination.
