Manish Sisodia, a jailed Aam Aadmi Party leader, wrote a letter to the people of India today, alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s lack of educational qualification is ‘dangerous’ for India.
Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, has also attacked the Prime Minister over the alleged confusion over his college degrees. Mr. Kejriwal was recently fined Rs 25,000 by the Gujarat High Court for requesting information about the Prime Minister’s graduation and post-graduate degrees through the Right to Information Act (RTI).
The Chief Minister of Delhi tweeted, “Manish Sisodia wrote a letter to the nation from jail. Prime Minister being less educated is very dangerous for the country. Modi Ji does not understand science. Modi Ji does not understand the importance of education. 60,000 schools closed in the last few years. It is necessary to have an educated PM for the progress of India”, through his official Twitter handle.
According to Manish Sisodia’s handwritten letter, which was tweeted by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, “Today’s youth is ambitious; they want to accomplish something and are looking for opportunities. They want to rule the world. They want to accomplish great things in science and technology. Is a less educated PM capable of meeting the aspirations of today’s youth?”
Mr. Sisodia stated that science and technology are advancing on a daily basis and that the world is talking about artificial intelligence.
Mr. Sisodia further said, “In this context, my heart sinks when I hear the Prime Minister saying that we can make tea or food from dirty gas by inserting a pipe in a dirty drain. Can food be cooked from the dirty gas of a drain? No. When the PM says that radar can’t detect an aircraft flying behind clouds, he becomes a subject of mockery in the entire world. School and college students mock him”.
According to Mr. Sisodia, every country in the world is aware that the prime minister of India lacks basic scientific understanding and is not well-educated.
He also claimed that when other heads of state hug the PM, they charge a lot of money. Don’t know what documents they have him sign because the PM is less educated and doesn’t understand.
Manish Sisodia claimed that the closure of 60,000 schools in previous years demonstrates that the government does not at anyway prioritize education.
“Can the nation advance if we don’t provide our youngsters with a proper education? Never”, Mr. Sisodia affirmed.
The letter read, “I saw a video of PM Modi where he is proudly saying that he is not educated. He says he has only studied in a village school. Is being illiterate or less educated something to be proud of? A country where the PM is proud of being less educated will never provide a good education for its children”.
Arvind Kejriwal, who was given four weeks to pay the fine, asked, “Is it not the country’s right to know how well educated their Prime Minister is? They were adamant about not revealing his degree in court. Why? And the person who requests the degree will be fined? What is going on? A PM who is uneducated or undereducated is dangerous to the country”.
Following several rounds of questioning, the CBI arrested Mr. Sisodia on February 26 in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-canceled Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22.
Following several rounds of questioning, the CBI arrested Mr. Sisodia on February 26, 2023, in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22.
A trial court denied Mr. Sisodia’s bail application on March 31, 2023, saying he was “prima facie the architect” and played the “most important and vital role” in the criminal conspiracy involving the alleged payment of advance kickbacks of Rs 90-100 crore intended for him and his colleagues in the Delhi government.
