On Thursday, police said a three-member family from the state, who had lived in Chennai, was discovered dead in a hotel room in this central Kerala district.
According to police, a man, his wife, and their daughter were discovered hanging inside the room.
The family checked into the hotel a few days ago according to hotel workers, police stated.
The family had previously informed the hotel staff that they would be leaving the room the previous night.
Because they did not respond despite several attempts to contact them, hotel personnel notified the police, who went to the scene and broke the room’s lock.
A police officer stated that it appeared to be a suicide.
“They were settled in Chennai, according to the ID recovered from the room. However, we have yet to discover their native place in Kerala”, police continued.
“A purported suicide note discovered beside the remains stated that financial problems pushed them to take the extreme step”, police added.
