Mamata Banerjee Suffers Injury in Home Fall, Receives Forehead Stitches

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sustained a significant injury to her forehead following a fall at her residence. After receiving stitches, she was discharged from the hospital. The chief minister, accompanied by her nephew Abhishek Banerjee and other family members, was taken home following necessary tests.

The All India Trinamool Congress shared photos of Ms Banerjee in a hospital bed, depicting a deep cut on her forehead with blood visible on her face. She was promptly taken to the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata after the incident.

“Our chairperson Mamata Banerjee sustained a major injury. Please keep her in your prayers,” the party stated in a post on social media.

Sukanta Majumdar, the state president of Trinamool Congress, conveyed his wishes for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s swift recovery, stating, “Wishing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee a speedy recovery. Our prayers are with her for a quick return to good health,” also on social media.

Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankar, expressed deep concern about the Chief Minister’s health and extended wishes for her speedy recovery.

In a video, Mamata Banerjee was seen being wheeled to the Neurosciences Department of the hospital, with a bandage on her forehead.
