“Maharana Pratap Lok Will Be Established In Bhopal” Says CM Shivraj Chouhan

Madhya Pradesh: Remembering one of the most courageous kings of Indian history, Maharana Pratap, Shivraj Singh Chouhan denoted him as a symbol of the country’s valour. He declared a memorial named ‘Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Lok’ will be constructed in Bhopal which will depict his life and work and will be a tribute to his sacrifice, penance, and struggle. Along with this, the contributions of his seven associates, Bhamashah, Punjabhil, Chetak, and others will also be depicted.

He also said that the construction of Maharana Pratap Lok will be meaningful so that future generations can be aware of his struggle to protect his culture, freedom, and his ability to stick to the values of life. Stories of bravery of Maharana Pratap will be taught in the school curriculum in the state. Together with this, the Maharana Pratap Welfare Board will also be constituted. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the Maharana Pratap Jayanti celebrations at Lal Parade Ground.

Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated the birth anniversary celebrations by lighting the lamps on the pictures of Maharana Pratap, Maharaj Chhatrasal, and Maharani Padmavati. Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar, Maharana Pratap’s descendant Maharaj Kumar Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, state ministers, public representatives, senior citizens, and office bearers of social organizations were present.

The CM welcomed Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar by presenting him a sword and Ram Darbar. Chief Minister Chouhan was greeted by Dr. Mewar, who presented him soil of Haldi Ghaati. The senior members of society and the office bearers of social organizations were honoured by tying a turban, and a sword was presented to them as a memento of the ceremony.

Maharana Pratap’s personality is inspirational for all

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the personality and work of Maharana Pratap inspire all of us. We also get inspiration from him to serve all sections of society with honesty and truthfulness and to take the state forward on the path of progress and development.

“Maharana Pratap is also a symbol of building a glorious nation with valour, self-respect, and independence. A prosperous, and powerful India is being built under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India’s respect has increased in the rich and powerful countries of the world”, he added.

Holiday on the birth anniversary just an attempt to repay debt

While saluting Maharaj Chhatrasal Bundela, Chief Minister Chouhan said that there was a belief about him that “Chatta tore raj mein, dhak-dhak dharti hoye-jit-jit ghoda mukh kare, tit-tit fateh hoye”. This is the land of the brave. Giving a holiday on the birthday of such brave men is just an attempt to repay his debt. Recalling the commitment of Maharana Pratap to protect the motherland, he said, “It is my vow that those who play with the interests of our country and state will not be spared. It is our dharma to eliminate terrorists.”

Overwhelmed by receiving the soil of Haldi Ghaati as a gift

Overwhelmed by the gift of soil from Haldi Valley by Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, a descendant of Maharana Pratap, Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said that this is an invaluable treasure of my life. Nothing is holier than the soil of the Haldi Ghaati; it is a symbol of courage and the valour of India. I will never let go off the honour and glory of this soil. This soil will always remind us of the bravery of Maharana Pratap and will continue to inspire us to work in the right direction.

Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that Chief Minister Chouhan has done historic work by celebrating the birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap and installing the statue of Queen Padmavati in Bhopal. Chief Minister Chouhan has ensured the implementation of most of his announcements, which is his big achievement.

CM Chouhan reviving Indian culture

Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is reviving Indian culture in Madhya Pradesh. He is developing the state by following the path of Maharana Pratap Ji. Declaring Maharana Pratap’s birth anniversary a public holiday in the state, he has given a message that we all should remember him and be blessed and inspired by his bravery, sacrifice, patriotism, and values of life.

Musical presentation of the bravery saga of Maharana Pratap & Maharaja Chhatrasal

A musical rendition of the bravery saga of Maharana Pratap and Maharaj Chhatrasal was played in the programme, which was appreciated by the people. The whole ambiance was filled with heroic spirit. The pandal resounded with the slogans of “Maharana Pratap ki Jai and Maharaj Chhatrasal ki Jai”.

Ministers Dr. Arvind Singh Bhadoria, Kamal Patel, Vishwas Sarang, Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon, Dr. Prabhuram Chaudhary, Ms. Usha Singh Thakur, Bhopal Mayor Mrs. Malti Rai, Bhopal MP Ms. Pragya Singh Thakur, former minister Mr. Rampal Singh, and others were present in the programme.

Maharana Pratap (9 May 1540–19 January 1597)

Maharana Pratap Singh Sisodia was born on Jyeshtha Shukla Tritiya Sunday Vikram Samvat 1597 and accordingly on May 9, 1540, at Kumbhalgarh in Rajasthan to Maharana Uday Singh and Mata Rani Jaywantabai. He was the grandson of Mahavir Rana Sanga. They are immortal in history for their bravery, sacrifice, and determination.

He did not submit to the Mughal Emperor Akbar and fought for many years, Akbar finally failed to subdue Maharana Pratap. Maharana Pratap’s policies became a source of inspiration for everyone, from Shivaji Maharaj to freedom fighters. The horse that Maharana used to sit on was Chetak, one of the best horses in the world. Maharana used to wear 72 kg of armour and keep an 81 kg spear in his hand. They used to fight the war by lifting a total weight of 208 kg, including the weight of a shield and sword, a spear, and armour.

 On May 30 (Wednesday), in 1576, a fierce battle broke out between the huge Mughal army and the Ranbankuri Mewari army in the field of Haldi Ghaati. In the war, Maharana freed the slaves of the enemies, but the Rajput army could not stand in front of Akbar’s huge army, and Rana Pratap had to take refuge in the forest, but he did not accept Akbar’s slavery. Except for Chittor, the Maharana recaptured all his forts from the enemy. Apart from Chittorgarh and Mandalgarh, Maharana re-established his kingdom on the entire Mewar.

He made Udaipur his capital. After this, the Mughals challenged him several times, but they had to face defeat. Eventually, Maharana Pratap died at Chanvad on January 29, 1597, due to injuries sustained during battle and hunting.

Maharaja Chhatrasal

The medieval Rajput warrior Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundela (4 May 1649–20 December 1731) was a great warrior of the medieval period of India. He established his independent Hindu state in Bundelkhand by defeating the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb in the war and received the title of ‘Maharaja’. Maharaja Chhatrasal was born into a Rajput family and was a descendant of Rudra Pratap Singh of Orchha.

He was a great hero, organizer, skilled, and majestic king of his time. His life was spent fighting against the Mughals to establish the independence of Bundelkhand. He kept on fighting for his motherland until the last moment of his life.
