As millions gathered at the sacred Sangam for the holy dip during the Maha Kumbh on Monday, displaying deep devotion to the Sanatan faith, the police force’s exemplary conduct became a highlight of the event.
Police personnel could be seen assisting the elderly, women, and the differently-abled politely with endearing smiles throughout the holy bath.
Despite around 800 signages installed by the fair administration, devotees placed greater trust in the Yogi government’s police personnel for directions, thanks to their polite and helpful demeanor.
Whether on the pontoon bridges or at different sectors, whenever devotees sought guidance, the police responded with politeness, ensuring everyone reached their destination smoothly. The courteous behavior of the police left the devotees delighted and reassured.
It is worth noting that under the directives of the Yogi government, police personnel underwent large-scale behavioral training for two months at the Police Line in Parade Ground for the Maha Kumbh.
The positive results of this intensive preparation were clearly visible during the first bathing festival. Policemen stationed at the pontoon bridges and various sectors became the primary choice for devotees seeking information.
Moreover, the police went beyond guidance, assisting elderly devotees, women, and persons with disabilities with care and compassion, further reflecting their commitment to public service.
In view of the massive crowd for the first bathing festival, a significant police force deployed across the ghats and at key entry and exit points on the pontoon bridges.
The police set up assistance booths at all major crossings along both sides of the Ganga, staying alert and vigilant. They also stationed forces in watch towers at the crossings and closely monitored every activity.
SSP Maha Kumbh Rajesh Dwivedi assured that security arrangements were fully in place, with all officers deployed a day in advance for smooth operations. Strict security measures enforced at the ghats to ensure a peaceful and safe spiritual experience for all.
