The double-engine government is dedicated to making Maha Kumbh 2025 a divine, grand, and digital marvel, and in line with this vision, Indian Railways has launched a groundbreaking initiative to revolutionize ticketing for the event.
For the first time, the Prayagraj Railway Division will introduce digital railway tickets through QR codes printed on jackets worn by railway employees. This initiative aims to spare devotees the inconvenience of long ticket queues while streamlining the ticketing process.
To advance the Digital Maha Kumbh vision, Indian Railways has also introduced a toll-free helpline, a dedicated website, and the Maha Kumbh Mela App to ensure convenience for visitors.
The innovative ticketing system, developed by the North Central Railway, allows devotees to generate railway tickets by scanning QR codes imprinted on railway personnel’s jackets.
This system simplifies the process for millions of devotees expected in Prayagraj during Maha Kumbh 2025.
Amit Malviya, Senior PRO of the Prayagraj Railway Division, explained that commercial department employees will stationed at Prayagraj Junction wearing green jackets with QR codes on the back.
Devotees can scan these codes with their mobile phones to download the UTS mobile app, enabling unreserved ticket booking without waiting in queues.
This digital payment system not only saves time but also reduces logistical challenges associated with large-scale gatherings.
Senior PRO Malviya added that railway personnel wearing the QR code jackets will deployed at key locations within railway premises to assist devotees with ticket booking.
The QR codes will also provide access to other essential services, enhancing the overall travel experience.
This initiative by the North Central Railway marks a significant step towards Digital India and the Digital Maha Kumbh envisioned by the double-engine government, offering devotees a seamless and unique experience.
