On January 30, during the Maha Kumbh 2025, devotees and pilgrims continued to flock to the ghats of Prayagraj, with a steady flow of people arriving for the holy dip. Despite the heavy crowds on the previous day during the Amrit Snan of Mauni Amavasya, many pilgrims chose to bathe on Thursday, coinciding with the Pratipada of Gupt Navratri. From the sacred Triveni Sangam to various temporary and permanent ghats, the streets and riverside were alive with spiritual fervor.

The local administration’s preparations were evident as all ghats, including the Triveni Sangam, were fully equipped to handle the massive influx. As the devotees gathered, chants of ‘Har-Har Mahadev,’ ‘Jai Shri Ram,’ and ‘Modi-Yogi’ resonated through the air, underscoring the devotional atmosphere. Similarly, Ghanshyam from Panipat expressed that participating in the sacred event was a blessing from his ancestors, while Ramavatar Chaudhary from Sikar, Rajasthan, remarked that the cold waters of the Ganga washed away his fatigue and worries.
