In Uttar Pradesh, eight Lok Sabha constituencies witnessed a turnout of 52.74% by 5 pm, with Amroha leading at 61.89%, followed by Meerut (55.49%), Baghpat (52.74%), Ghaziabad (48.21%), Gautam Buddh Nagar (51.66%), Bulandshahr (54.34%), Aligarh (54.36%), and Mathura (46.96%).
Rajasthan saw an average turnout of 59.19% across 13 constituencies, with Barmer-Jaisalmer and Banswara-Dungarpur recording the highest participation. Peaceful polling prevailed despite few incidents, marking a surpassing of the first phase’s turnout, with around 2.8 crore eligible voters.
Madhya Pradesh witnessed a turnout of at least 54.83% in its six constituencies, with Hoshangabad leading at 63.44%, followed by Tikamgarh (57.19%), Satna (57.18%), Damoh (53.66%), Khajuraho (52.91%), and Rewa (45.02%).
Early voters included Union ministers Prahlad Patel in Damoh, and Virendra Kumar and his wife in Tikamgarh. Kumar, seeking his fourth term, faces Congress’ Pankaj Ahirwar.
Karnataka’s fourteen constituencies saw a turnout of 63.9% by 5 pm, with Mandya leading at 74.87% and Bangalore Central at the lowest with 48.16%.
Polling for all 20 constituencies in Kerala concluded at 6 pm, registering a provisional turnout exceeding 67.27%. Reports indicate queues outside polling booths, suggesting a likely increase in the final turnout percentage.
