Lok Sabha: BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri Insults Danish Ali Of The BSP, Om Birla Reacts

Ramesh Bidhuri, a BJP lawmaker from South Delhi, insulted a Muslim lawmaker in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, permanently marring the special session that should have been remembered for passing the women’s bill with one of the most revolting chapters in independent India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “sabka saath” slogan and the culture of the RSS were both called into question as a result of the outburst by major opposition parties.

The hateful, profane statements were removed from the parliamentary records by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

However, the targeted BSP MP, Danish Ali, reiterated the phrases in a letter to the Speaker and during a press conference held at his residence on Friday.

Newspapers typically avoid using such derogatory terminology. Although neither Bidhuri’s position in life as an elected representative of the people in a republic nor the revered status of the House of the People prevented him from spewing venom, it would be unfair to Ali to censor the words he said outside the House given that Ali felt compelled to bring up the abuses, which highlight how deeply hate has ingrained itself in this nation.

Additionally, while addressing reporters, Ali emphasized a crucial point: such language is frequently used against Muslims outside of Parliament.

“He directed the most foul, abusive invectives against me during the course of his speech (on the success of the Chandrayaan mission),” Ali wrote. Atankwadi (terrorist), Mulla Ugravadi (Muslim fanatic), Bhadwa (pimp), and Katwa (circumcised).

If action was not taken against Bidhuri, Ali threatened to resign from the Lok Sabha and requested that the subject be forwarded to the privileges committee.

The Speaker’s response, a stern warning to the BJP member, dismayed the opposition parties and a large number of citizens on social media, who demanded Bidhuri’s immediate arrest. Several leaders underlined that opposition MPs had been suspended for far lesser indiscretions, while Bidhuri’s outburst had the potential to disturb the communal situation in the country.

The Prime Minister hasn’t commented on this topic after letting off Bhopal MP Pragya Singh for disparaging Mahatma Gandhi and praising Nathuram Godse by simply adding that he wouldn’t forgive her “from the heart”.

After referring to the political climate as a battle between “Ramzade and Haramzade” during Modi’s first term, Niranjan Jyoti was still a minister. Bidhuri has received a show-cause letter from the BJP, and she has 15 days to respond.
