Live Update: Bidding adieu to mother Heeraben, Modi witnesses a glorious century resting at peace

PM Modi’s mother Hiraben is no more! She passed away at a hospital in Ahmedabad today on Friday morning. Heeraben was 99. A bulletin from the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, informed the sad news of her demise.

Heera Baa was admitted in the UN Mehta Hospital on Wednesday after her health deteriorated.

Earlier, PM Modi condoled the death of Heera Ba and tweeted, “A glorious century rests at the feet of God… I have always felt Trinity in Maa.. in which the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of the selfless Karmayogi and the embodiment of values committed for life are witnessed. 

Prime Minister Modi further writes, “When I met her on her 100th birthday, she had said one thing, which I always remember – Work with intelligence and live life with purity!”

Senior BJP leaders including Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, CM Yogi Adityanath have expressed condolences on the demise of PM Modi’s mother.

At the same time, leaders of Congress and other parties have also condoled the demise of Heera Ba, PM Modi’s mother.  Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also expressed condolences on the death of Prime Minister’s mother, Heeraben Modi.
