On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary, calling him a visionary leader and an icon of social justice.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Remembering Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary. A visionary leader, fierce freedom fighter, and an icon of social justice, he dedicated his life to empowering the underprivileged and building a strong India.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid homage, describing Lohia as a principled patriot and a key figure in India’s political and social history.
“Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia ji was one of those great personalities in the political and social history of India, who remained dedicated to his principles and values of patriotism throughout his life. Lohia ji’s thoughts based on women’s education, social equality and political purity are inspiring for everyone. I pay my tributes to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia ji on his birth anniversary,” Shah posted on X.
BJP national president and Union Minister JP Nadda further hailed Lohia as the pioneer of ‘Sapt Kranti’, noting his commitment to social upliftment and transparency in politics.
Taking to X, Nadda posted, “I pay my heartfelt tributes to the great freedom fighter, the pioneer of Sapt Kranti, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia ji on his birth anniversary. Revered Lohia ji has set high standards of purity and transparency in Indian politics and has paved the way for nation-building with his nationalist thinking and works of social empowerment. His work towards the upliftment of the exploited and deprived class and social justice will always inspire all of us.”
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari called Lohia a great freedom fighter, while Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma offered respectful tributes.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath honored Lohia’s lifelong dedication to social justice and work for the underprivileged, while Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said his efforts for the rights of the poor will always be remembered.
