Delhi police has started Ladakh MP Haji Hanifa Jan and supporters of environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk at Singhu border and took them to Narela Police station. Police has already detained Sonam Wangchuk from the border as environmentalists from Ladakh has reached Delhi border.
Earlier, talking on the detention of climate activist, MP Haji Hanifa said that they have been raising their concerns peacefully from last three years. Hanifa further expresses his dismay over cessation of discussion after formation of new government.
Notably, climate activist Wangchuk was arrested Monday night with his supporter at Singhu Border as the fleet of activist from Ladakh reached Delhi. Further more, section 163 of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita has been imposed at Delhi borders.

Environmentalist himself informed about his detention on microblogging platform ‘X’.
Mr Wangchuk and other volunteers were embarking on a foot march from Leh to New Delhi to urge the Centre to resume dialogue with Ladakh’s leadership regarding their demands.
One of their key demands is for Ladakh to be included in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, granting law-making powers to the local population to protect their land and cultural identity.
Mr Wangchuk and around 75 volunteers started their foot march from Leh on September 1.
To be sure, Mr Wangchuk has been advocating for statehood, inclusion under the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, which grants special rights to tribal communities, and stronger ecological protections for Ladakh.
Notably, authorities split the Jammu and Kashmir into two union territory- Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh- following the abrogation of Article 370 from the region.
