A 13-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a laboratory technician at a hospital in Howrah, West Bengal, on Saturday night, according to police reports. The incident reportedly occurred around 10 p.m. when the girl, who was being treated for pneumonia, was taken for a CT scan. The girl’s family claims she emerged from the department in tears and sought help from another patient’s relative.
The relative, who filmed the aftermath of the alleged assault, pursued the suspect—a contractual employee identified as Aman Raj. The video shows the girl recounting the alleged incident. Upon hearing her daughter’s cries, the girl’s mother rushed to her side and notified the police.
News of the assault quickly spread, leading to outrage among local residents. The victim’s family and other protesters gathered at the hospital, and there were attempts to physically confront the accused. Police arrived to protect Raj from the angry crowd and subsequently arrested him based on the complaint lodged by the girl’s family.
