K’taka CM Siddaramaiah Commends State’s Assistance To Wayanad

On Saturday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah praised the state’s efforts to support those affected by the landslide crisis in Wayanad, Kerala. His office released a statement highlighting the contributions made by various organizations and individuals from Karnataka.

Siddaramaiah acknowledged the humanitarian organizations for their vital role in providing relief. They have delivered essential supplies, including medical equipment and other necessary materials, to Wayanad. The Mysuru district administration played a significant role in this effort. They dispatched 15 freezer boxes, four tractor-mounted compressors, jackhammers, 15 emergency light systems, 40 stretchers, 288 gumboots, five steel cutters, ten gas cutters, bottles of sanitizers, and medicines.

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru also contributed. They sent water bottles, raincoats, sanitizers, tents, and PPE kits. Volvo joined in by providing 2,000 packs of sanitary pads, 100 PPE kits, and two trucks full of supplies.

Private organizations have been instrumental in the aid effort as well. The Electronic City Industrial Association and Pranav Foundation supplied 40 stretchers, 1,000 N-95 masks, 500 bottles of sanitizers, 1,000 gloves, and one truck. Biocon, along with Narayana Health and Syngene, sent 2,200 masks, 100 raincoats, five cartons of bedsheets and clothes, and 250 PPE kits.

In addition, Akshaya Trust and Utishtha Swayam Seva Organisation provided 1,000 blankets, tarpaulins, two ambulances, and financial aid of Rs 25 lakh.

Earlier in the day, Siddaramaiah announced plans to build 100 houses in Wayanad as part of the state’s ongoing support for the affected region. He spoke with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over the phone to discuss the situation and offered further assistance.

Siddaramaiah’s efforts underscore Karnataka’s commitment to helping its neighboring state during this crisis.
