Kota Takes Steps to Address Rising Suicide Rates
The educational hub of Rajasthan has garnered attention due to the unfortunate suicides of students undergoing preparation for competitive exams. These distressing events have brought the role of coaching institutes into question. Responding to this concern, the Gehlot government has introduced a significant initiative. In an effort to prevent such incidents, the state has launched the ‘Adhe Din Padhai Adhe Din Masti’ program, which will be implemented one day a week.
Government to Extend Psychological Counseling to Stressed Students. In response to concerns about exam-related stress, a dedicated committee has been constituted under the guidance of CM Ashok Gehlot. The committee, led by its chairman, is scheduled to visit Kota shortly to address the matter.
Video Conference Meeting Addresses Rising Suicide Cases in Kota: Collaboration with Coaching Institutes and Hostel Associations. Chaired by Principal Secretary (Higher and Technical Education) Bhavani Singh Detha, the meeting discussed the ‘Balanced Learning, Joyful Living’ initiative, also known as ‘Half Day Study Half Day Fun.’ After the meeting, officials shared that every Wednesday, coaching institutes will organize sessions combining study and recreational activities.
