Kolkata-Port Blair Vistara Flight Makes U-Turn Over Mocha-Induced Bad Weather

The airline announced on Saturday that Vistara flight (UK747) destined for Port Blair is returning to its origin airport Kolkata due to severe weather at the destination.

The flight was scheduled to arrive in Kolkata at about 3 pm.

Vistara tweeted, “#DiversionUpdate: Flight UK747 from Kolkata to Port Blair (CCU – IXZ) is returning to Kolkata (CCU) due to bad weather at Port Blair Airport and is expected to arrive in Kolkata at 1500 hours. Please stay tuned for further updates”, through its official Twitter handle.

The active cyclone Mocha, which is now centered in Port Blair, is most likely to blame for the weather.
