The Prime Minister also expressed hope that the coming years would bring greater opportunities, prosperity and continued progress for every resident of the state.
Keralam celebrates its Foundation Day, known as Kerala Piravi, every year on November 1. The state was formed on November 1, 1956, under the States Reorganisation Act, 1956, by bringing together Malayalam-speaking regions of the erstwhile Travancore-Cochin states and the Malabar district.
Chief Minister VD Satheesan also extended greetings to the people, noting that Keralam had completed seven decades since its formation.
In his message, Satheesan said the state was entering a new era by drawing strength from its achievements and lessons learnt over the past seven decades.
