K Chandrashekar Rao’s Hip Replacement Surgery Successful, Hospital Gives Update

After a fall on Thursday, former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) underwent a successful total left hip replacement surgery on Friday, according to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad. The operation was carried out by a group of experienced orthopedic surgeons and other medical specialists at Hyderabad’s Yashoda Hospital.

Rao “has undergone the planned operation of left total hip replacement,” the hospital announced on Friday night in a health bulletin. He had “tolerated the surgery well and was stable hemodynamically throughout the surgery” it stated.

Rao has been shifted to a room after the surgery and is recuperating. The usual course of recovery is expected to be six to eight weeks.

Regular post-operative care has been provided to him, including IV fluids, preventative antibiotics, and painkillers. The hospital stated that the plan for walking, physical therapy, and nutrition would be created based on the assessment on Saturday.

According to BRS chief Dasoju Srravan, the surgery went well. He told news agency PTI, “He is absolutely fine, and we are hopeful that he will be discharged in three days.”

The 69-year-old, who resigned as chief minister on December 3 following his BRS’s defeat in the recent assembly election, has been staying at his farmhouse at Erravelli near Hyderabad and has been meeting party leaders and common people. On Thursday night, he fell.
