The IPS officers of the 1984 batch celebrated their 40-year reunion on Friday at the Chandigarh Golf Club. The gathering brought together 30 retired officers and their families for a memorable retreat.
The event was graced by Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, as the chief guest. He greeted each officer personally and expressed his deep appreciation for their decades of dedicated service to the nation. Governor Kataria praised the officers’ contributions to law enforcement and public safety and commended their commitment to the welfare of the country.
In his address, the Governor urged the retired officers to continue serving the nation, whether directly or indirectly, in any capacity. He emphasized that they should remain responsible citizens and actively contribute to India’s development in their post-retirement years. His words resonated with the officers, highlighting the enduring importance of their work even after their official duties had ended.
The reunion proved to be a fitting tribute to the officers’ careers and a chance for them to reconnect, share memories, and reflect on their service. It ended with officers expressing gratitude for their continued engagement in nation-building.
